In
addition to the basic objectives of the program, IATP/Azerbaijan:
Provides specialized training courses and dial-up
services to ECA alumni, scholars and researchers, mass media
representatives, and NGOs (recommendations
on setting up dial-up connection).
Currently,
more than 35 ECA alumni receive dial-up access to the Internet
and approximately 250 alumni and other audiences receive training
from IATP each month.
Develops
training-of-trainer programs throughout Azerbaijan for ECA alumni,
educators, and other professionals.
Collaborates
with local and international organizations to establish a local
nonprofit organization in Baku to maintain a non-commercial
Internet network jointly established by IATP and the Open Society
Institute in Azerbaijan.
There
are currently more than 15 organizations in Azerbaijan connected
to the Internet via this network. Assist local public libraries
in bringing their catalogs and resources on-line for broad dissemination
throughout Azerbaijan.
